Environmental benefits because of sustainable paper

'Wise With Waste', that is the vision of PaperWise. Why would you burn agricultural waste when it can be made into a perfect raw material for paper? High quality PaperWise paper and paperboard is made from agricultural waste (leaves and stems) with 100% green energy. From agricultural waste, also called agri-waste, PaperWise recovers cellulose, which is the most important raw material for paper. This cellulose is converted into high quality sustainable paper and paperboard. By choosing PaperWise, I choose to give agricultural waste a second life for the production of sustainable paper and paperboard. The amount of agri-waste replaces the amount of fibres from trees and so these trees no longer need to be specially planted, but can stay where they are to absorb CO2 and turn it into oxygen; to become regular forests again with a large diversity of life and biodiversity. Highly efficient, food and paper from the same plant, annual available and we need only one piece of land. The yield per ha that is almost 1,5 as high as trees. Moreover, the production process from PaperWise is CO2 neutral.

By choosing PaperWise, I chose 100% quality and 50% less environmental impact in comparison to FSC virgin paper, which is made from fresh wood fibers. With FSC paper, I already choose for quality and the environment, but with PaperWise I move a step forward in future. I may be a small business producing in lower volumes and you may be a smaller customer, purchasing a few items but I do believe that we need to start small to achieve big results!

After finding out more about PaperWise, my decision and choice was clear that from that moment on, I would not want to go and choose any other paper type for my packaging. To keep the luxurious look of the candle but still stick to the most eco-friendly alternative I found on the market, I decided to go for the PaperWise Natural Coated 1 Side White cardboard. It is CO2-neutral unbleached cardboard from agricultural waste (leaves and stems) made with 100% green energy. This sustainable cardboard with a very low environmental impact is certified for industrial composting (EN13432) and is suitable for recycling via the normal waste paper flow. The ink used for the printing of the box is Cradle to cradle certified. Even the labels that you see on the outside of the box are made of PaperWise paper, they are biodegradable and combined with BioTAK® adhesive fully certified for (industrial) compostability (EN13432). The candle care instructions that you find in the box are also printed on PaperWise paper.
